This is because men and women usually suffer from different types of lung cancer and therefor experience different symptoms, making it important to look out for the symptoms that are specific to your sex.

Lung cancer in women

It spreads on the outer part of the lungs and it is known as adenocarcinoma. Before being detected, the tumor becomes large and spreads through the entire body.

Early symptoms:

• Shortness of breath
• Back and shoulder pain

Symptoms which appear once the cancer grows:

• Chest, shoulder, and back pain
• Coughing blood
• Increased mucus and changed color

Lung cancer in men

Lung cancer in men is developed in the central part of the lungs, which results in air obstruction and it is known as non-small cell lung cancer.

Some of the symptoms:

• Chronic cough
• Wheezing
• Repeated lung infections (bronchitis or pneumonia)

At men, there is an air obstruction more than in the condition of women and many studies show that this is due to the smoking habits.

So in order to reduce the risk of lung cancer, you need to stop smoking.
